Electronics projects

Here is a small overview of projects I have developed at home. The descriptions are not complete but hopefully sufficient to get inspired.

Arduino

ArduinoBT and an Android phone or tablet Controlling an ArduinoBT with a mobile phone. Two-way communication over Bluetooth between anAndroid portable device and the Arduino.
ArduinoBT and an MIDP phone Controlling an ArduinoBT with a mobile phone. Two-way communication over Bluetooth between an MIDP phone and the Arduino.
Resistive sensor array A circuit created as an add-on print for Arduino with which an array of resistive sensors can be read out
PPG Heart rate sensor A circuit created as an add-on print for Arduino for measuring heart rate with photoplethismography (PPG)
Pin-change interrupts Arduino has only two hardware interrupts: INT0 and INT1. However, the ACR microcontroller can have an interrupton any pin change. The code for having more than two pin-interrupts is given here

80C51 Series

MIDI Interface To give an old piano keyboard a new life with a MIDI interface. The MIDI interface scans the pressed keys and sends MIDI ON and MIDI OFF events over the MIDI bus.
EPROM Programmer A very simple EPROM programmer which can be connected to either an I²C bus or a printer port.
80C552 board Experimental board with a 80C552 processor, 32K of RAM, 32K of ROM and suitable for uploading program code.
DTMF decoder A method to detect DTMF symbols using FFTs. The algorithm is small enough to fit in a microcontroller.

PC RS232 port

AD Converter for serial port The TLC549 is an 8 bit analog to digital converter with a serial output. It can be connected to the serial port of a PC to sample the data. Data rates of 1kHz can be achieved.
ISFET Interface for serial port The analog to digital converter mentioned above is combined with an Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor (ISFET) amplifier in a single package
I²C Interface for PC By using the control lines of the RS232 port of a PC, one can easily implement an I²C interface. Both the simple interface and the software are on this page.
