Driving through San Francisco is an experience on it’s own. Watching Victorian houses, a great view from Fisherman’s Warf, shopping, eating and drinking, it is all very accessible. I Crossed the Golden Gate bridge by foot after an encounter with a raccoon at the entrance.

An amazing park is the San Diego Zoo in San Diego’s Balboa park. Not only unique for its animals, but especially because of the vegetation in the park. A highlight are the giant panda’s which can be observed on the internet by the Panda Cam.
The Dezerland Beach hotel in Miami Beach (later a Howard Johnson and closed since about 2015) has a special lounge with cars from the 1950’s. Some of these are modified so you can have breakfast or dinner inside.
Great blues bars and wonderful architecture can be found in Chicago.
In the left picture, one can see the old and the new Boston next to each other: in the middle the Trinity Church, and on the right-hand side the John Hancock tower. The right-hand picture is taken on Fairfield street.
The Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park is the home for many manatees.

The Banff National Park in Canada is great for hiking. You can swim in the hot springs and go up the Sulphur mountain with a gondola. It is also a good starting point to visit Lake Louise. One can see bears and elks. The following picture is of the Banff Springs Hotel.
